IIM PLATINUM JUBILEE ESSAY COMPETITION

IIM Jamshedpur chapter is organizing a national level contest on essay writing as a part of IIM platinum jubilee celebration. The objective of this event is to encourage the aspiring UG, PG and PhD students to express their views and novel ideas on professionally important topics in the areas of Materials Science and Metallurgy for future industrial and technological developments.

Essays from the participants will be received online and the same will be judged by eminent professionals. Two best essays from each category will be selected and the winners will be recognized with prizes and appreciation certificates on a professional forum.

Important instructions for submitting an essay

The following instructions to be strictly followed:

A participant can submit only one essay
A cover page comprises of full name, affiliation and contact details should be provided
Essay must be submitted on or before the deadline
Essay written in English language will only be accepted
Essay should consist of maximum 1000 words excluding footnotes
Footnotes/references may be provided at the end to indicate the source of information
Essay should be plagiarism checked to avoid disqualification
Participants must provide an ‘originality statement’ at the end of the essay stating that this is his own writing and it contains no material/s copying from any other sources
Essay must be submitted in PDF format 
Essays will be evaluated based on following ‘set of criteria’
Originality of the essay
Technical content & novelty
Comprehensive coverage of the topic
Language/grammar/style
3 best essays will be awarded during IIM Platinum Jubilee celebration
In addition to that certificate of appreciation will be provided to selected
